Child and Youth Mental Health Services

Provided by Arrow & Slocan Lakes Community Services

Provides therapeutic response, assessment, counselling, referral and follow up services to children and youth under the age of 19 who may be experiencing mental, emotional or behavioural difficulties or have been sexually abused.
These services include screening and assessment, treatment of identified mental health issues, case management, case planning and appropriate referrals, support for caregivers and clinical consultation. Preventative and educational programs to improve the quality of life for children and their families in our community are also provided.

The following programs are offered:
  • The Community Action Program for Children: The CAP-C program supports and works with families to promote the health and well being of infants and young children.
  • Children & Youth Counselling: Arrow and Slocan Lakes Community Services offers counselling services for the benefit of children’s mental emotional, and behavioral difficulties.
  • The Food Bank: Open every Thursday and Friday to help alleviate hunger and to serve children and families who are in need.
  • The Safe Home Program: Provides safe, confidential, and free temporary housing to women (and their children) fleeing from abuse or risk of abuse. The service is available 24/7.
  • Community & Medical Bus: Offers a variety of schedules that can help to get you where you need to go.
  • Breakfast Program: Provides nutrition to children five days a week at both schools. The breakfast program is open to any child that is in need of a nutritious breakfast. Contact Anne at 250-265-3674 ext: 213
