Mental Health Supports

Provided by WE Graham Community Service Society

Offers art therapy and youth mental health supports to individuals living in the Slocan Valley.
Various mental health supports are offered, including:
  • Art Therapy for Children and Youth: Runs Art Therapy sessions throughout the school year, through school facilities in the valley including W.E. Graham Community School, Winlaw Elementary, Brent Kennedy Elementary. The sessions are facilitated by art therapist Seamus Gray, and funded through the Ministry for Children and Family Development.
  • Art Therapy for Adults: These sessions provide a casual opportunity to get together and engage in creative expression, conversation and relaxation with others. Led by our art therapist Seamus Gray, there is no cost to attend, no booking necessary, no prior experience needed and all materials are provided. Every Tuesday 4:00pm – 5:30pm in the Youth Centre.
  • Youth Mental Health Support Program: Runs throughout the school year and is based out of the WEGCSS Learning Centre. This program is available to Slocan Valley youth and their caregivers. Using an outreach approach, the Youth Mental Health Support Worker (YMHSW) aims to help families build resilience and recovery in the areas of mental health, substance use, physical health, and positive life skills.
