Community Airport Newcomers Network

Newcomers receive information and resources about living in Canada upon arriving at YVR.
Immigrants, refugees, and temporary foreign workers receive a warm welcome along with important information about living and working in Canada when they arrive at Vancouver International Airport. Services include:
  • Welcome to Canada reception and orientation to landing procedures
  • Information and orientation on living and working in Canada
  • Referrals to local settlement and community resources across Canada
  • Additional services and supports for government-assisted refugees, privately-sponsored refugees, and blended visa office referred refugees


The program is available to immigrants and refugees who are landing in Canada for the first time as permanent residents and employer-specific temporary foreign workers.
